This past weekend we acknowledged Elimination of Violence Against Women Day. We honor Sr. Teresita Hinnegan for her work to end exploitation and violence against women. After her retirement from a long career in nursing and midwifery, she established a Center for the Empowerment of Women and Girls in Philadelphia. She is also the co-founder of Dawn's Place, a shelter for domestically trafficked women. Sr. Teresita took her final rest on February 10, 2020.
