The Hermitage Experience

The hermitage experience provides the space, the silence, and the solitude which can lead to the discovery of own's inner truth, a truth we learn best in the wilderness of our heart. In the midst of the world's noise, turmoil and anxieties, in hermitage solitude we listen for the voice of our Inner Teacher who has promised, "My peace I give to you."  John 14:27

The hermitages are located in a small grove on the property of the Medical Mission Sisters and give a sense of seclusion conducive to prayerful solitude. We are happily bordered by two large parks which allow for longer walks in the woods, cycling along the creek or bird watching. The deer from the wildlife reserve are regular visitors to the hermitages.

The four hermitages are single self-catering dwellings with their own cooking facilities and heating and air-conditioning units, so they are available year-round.  Each season has its own unique charm, including the snow-laden trees in the winter.
