Mission Stories

World Day Against Trafficking in Persons

The late Sister Teresita Hinnegan, MMS, was a passionate advocate for victims of human trafficking. Driven by her desire to improve the lives of those affected by human trafficking and sexual exploitation, in 2007 she co-founded Dawn's Place. Dawn's place is a center that provides a safe and caring residential setting for survivors of commercial sexual exploitation (CSE) or sex trafficking. Many of our other sisters have been involved in working against human trafficking, through policy and through personal interaction with the victims.
