World AIDS Day

On December 1, we join many others in marking World AIDS Day. First recognized in 1988, this was the first ever global health day. Approximately 38 million people world-wide are living with HIV, and an estimated 35 million people have died from AIDS-related illnesses since the start of the epidemic. For many years, Medical Mission Sisters in many countries have specially cared for persons with HIV/AIDS.
