Sister Celine Paramundayil moved to our North American unit from her South Indian home ten years ago to serve as the Medical Mission Sisters’ United Nations representative. Although she had an office at our North American headquarters in Philadelphia, often a note on her door indicated she was once again in New York City. She helped shape policies and led or co-led workshops and seminars on social, economic, environmental and gender justice as well as women empowerment. She worked diligently and skillfully to further the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, and shared with her colleagues the grass-roots experiences of MMS around the world. She ends her role at the UN June 30, 2020. We are so grateful for her contributions on behalf of the Medical Mission Sisters!
