Seasonal Reflections The Beautiful Gifts of Summer
The Summer Solstice arrived in the Northern Hemisphere on June 20. This day marked the arrival of the longest day of the year. Summer days are filled with light; the nights are short. The seeds planted in an earlier season grow rapidly and blossom. Life’s purpose is made manifest, possibilities ripen, and what is being promised is being fulfilled. The Summer Solstice invites us to attune ourselves to the beauty and mystery of a new season. Aligning ourselves with the season opens our heart to experience the wisdom of the earth. Moving outward toward the light, we learn to trust more deeply in the Divine Mystery of Life. We gain the soul strength that comes from risking our own movement and growth toward the Sacred vision of our own life’s purpose. We give gratitude to our Mother Earth for welcoming us to the common journey that we share. -- Sister Jane Pellowski, MMS
