In Germany, 3 women recently made First Vows as Medical Mission Sisters. Sister Monika Ballani, a social worker, is in mission in Berlin with people who cannot hear. Sister-Doctor Simone Hermann, a surgeon, is working in a hospital near Frankfurt. Sister Beate Glania, a pastoral worker, is a spiritual tutor for theology students at the University of the Jesuits in Frankfurt. We congratulate these new Sisters, and ask God to bless them in their vocation of healing presence.

Our Sisters in the Panackachira area of Kerala, South India, recently held a 2-day Children's Parliament program, which 75 children attended. The program encouraged the full participation of the children in social and political development, and helped them grow in self-confidence and knowledge. The children staged some of the problems prevalent in their localities, and became more aware of their roles and responsibilities in shaping the society of the future. Sister Judy Ignatius accompanied some of them in forming other children's groups.
