Our "Society Team on Religious Life" recently met in London. The Sisters on the team and the areas they represent include: Edith Dug-yi (Africa), Christianne Gadiot (Latin America), Lucy Klein-Gebbinck (North America), Emily Kottaram (Asia), Agnes Lanfermann (Europe), and Rowena Pineda (East Asia). They are developing a process to help all Medical Mission Sisters reflect on religious life and what it means to us today. "We believe that what will emerge will be another treasure that roots us ever more deeply in this 'beautiful vocation' to which we have been called," Sister Lucy says. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Congratulations to our 2 newest Sisters -- Katherine Baltazar, a nurse, and Jean Kirk, a physician - who are making their First Profession of Vows in Philadelphia on Sunday, September 4. We pray that God will bless them abundantly on their Vow Day, and in all the days to come. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Nine of our Sisters from Germany attended the World Youth Meeting 2005 in Cologne. More than 1 million pilgrims from 193 nations were present. "What a vision for our whole world, to live in peace and community together!" exclaimed Sister Magdalena Keil. Two of our Sisters in Formation were honored to be part of the group that officially welcomed Pope Benedict XVI and President Horst Koehler in Bonn, Germany. In addition to working in vocation promotion, our Sisters at the meeting conducted a prayer service, and offered prayerful guidance to the young people. "It brought light and fresh air to Germany, and to everyone from around the world who attended the meeting." . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
