Ensuring a safe water supply has been a priority for the outreach team of St. Luke Catholic Hospital in Wolisso, Ethiopia. "The public health team has been able to protect 5 springs and construct 3 hand-dug wells, and these now provide safe water for over 15,000 people," says Sister Elaine Kohls, the hospital's administrator. "Two more wells, and 2 springs, are under construction at present." Noting that there is a good supply of water in the area, Sister Elaine explains that the public health team is teaching the people how to use simple technology to keep the water safe.

Sister Elly Verrijt shares how her ministry at DeGaarde, a center for Ecological Awareness and Spirituality in Udenhout, The Netherlands, is becoming better known. "There was a nationwide program about us on the radio, and that brought quite a group of new visitors and lots of other responses. Also, we were nominated as the best volunteer project in the city of Tilburg, and that resulted in a lot of publicity in our own area." DeGaarde has grown steadily since its founding in 1999.
