The provision of safe water supplies to the remote, rural areas around Wolisso, Ethiopia, is continuing. 13 hand-dug wells have been completed, and 10 springs have been protected, providing water for over 47,000 people. St. Luke's Catholic Hospital and College of Nursing, where Sister Elaine Kohls is General Manager and Sister Pia Poovan is a surgeon, supplies the skilled labor, cement, iron rods, fittings for the water sites, and pumps for the hand-dug wells. The local communities are expected to provide the sand, stone, some cash, and unskilled labor for the protection of their water supply.

Our Sisters in Purwakerto, Indonesia, have been active in a new primary health care mission in the Wangon Sub-Parish for a number of months. After living among the people and listening to their needs, the following goals have been set: guidance for the people in building Basic Christian Communities; women's empowerment (especially in the area of primary health care); and formation for the youth.
