Sister Teresa Jaramillo, who has been in mission in Tijuana, Mexico, for over 10 years, was recently featured in an article in the Southern Cross, San Diego's Catholic newspaper. The article praised Sister Teresa's creative efforts with the women of Barrio Fausto Gonzalez, which is located on a municipal garbage dump. She has helped to establish and maintain a Women's Cooperative that includes a nursery school, beauty shop, bakery, and kitchen. Women who recycled garbage in order to survive are now able to earn a living in other life-giving ways. They also make nutritious meals for the area's very poor people.
