Partners in Mission

We are grateful for those around the world who support Medical Mission Sisters in our efforts to be a healing presence to those in need today.

At this time of Thanksgiving, as we prepare to celebrate our 80th Anniversary year, we are especially thankful for all of those who support our work. Through their generosity, we are able to continue to reach out in a healing way to those made poor, to the sick, the abused, the neglected, and the oppressed.

Our 2 major centers for fund-raising are located in the Netherlands and in North America. Donations made in these countries support our ministries around the world. England, Germany, and the Philippines also have dedicated fund-raising operations.

Since the 1930's, there has been a "circle of friends" around the Medical Mission Sisters in the Netherlands. In 1977, this "circle" became an independent organization with the name "Vrienden Medische Missiezusters." These friends and donors have been very loyal to us. Vrienden sends them an 8-page newsletter twice a year, and also has a website in Dutch for those who prefer to get their information on the Internet.

In North America, our almost 80-year-old fund-raising efforts are centered at our headquarters in Philadelphia. We communicate with donors, potential donors, and friends through brochures; newsletters; letters and prayer cards; our annual calendar; and this website. Our correspondence and face-to-face visits with donors, in which we each share our stories, are treasured experiences in our partnership in mission.

"We can truly say that we have been blessed with a legion of wonderful friends … a religious community is really a community project; it could not come into existence or survive otherwise," said Mother Anna Dengel, our Foundress. "We thank our friends and benefactors … we pray for them, and ask them to pray for us."

The wonderful smiles on the faces of these children say it all … together with them, we thank and pray for our partners in mission.
